I love when I have an excuse to stamp, where I have to tell myself, you have an obligation to send out thank you cards so you better set time aside to play… um I mean make those cards! Lately I have been loving the simple cards and they are great for mass production, this one I did 12 cards in about 2 hours! Perfect to slide in during nap time!
My daughter turned 1 so I wanted to be sure to get some cards thanking people for gift so I thought it was the perfect time to try out the Daisy Delight stamp set and the coordinating Daisy Punch! I find it is easiest to get all your cutting done first, so here is what you need to cut out.
5 1/2 x 8 1/2 of Whisper White card stock, folded in half with your bone folder.
5 3/8 x 4 1/8 of Crushed Curry card stock
5 1/4 x 4 of Whisper White card stock
An extra sheet of Whisper White
Using Smoky Slate Ink, use the Daisy stamp towards the upper left hand corner of the smaller Whisper White card stock, keeping it landscape (horizontal direction, not vertical, card will open from the bottom). Using Memento Black, stamp “Thank You” in the bottom right corner of the same sheet. Stamp “Your Thoughtfulness Brightened My Day” on the inside of the larger piece of card stock, making sure it opens from the bottom, not the side.
Use the Subtle Embossing folder, run it through the Big Shot to give the smaller, stamped Whisper White card stock some texture. I love this embossing folder, it doesn’t change the look of the stamping on the card stock but it does give the background just a little bit of something extra.
Using Crushed Curry ink, stamp a daisy on your extra sheet of Whisper White and use the Daisy Punch to punch it out. Adhere the punched out daisy on top of the smoky slate daisy, turning it so you can see the Smoky Slate ink behind the punched out Daisy. You want to adhere the daisy with a glue dot and bend the petals up a little to give it dimension. Adhere a large Clear Faceted Gem to the center of the daisy. Adhere the Crushed Curry card stock to the larger Whisper White, and adhere the Daisy stamped Whisper White to the Crushed Curry.
Then I love to give the envelope a little color so I used the 3 small flowers in the Daisy Delight stamp set to stamp the flap of the envelope as well as up the bottom left side.
Here is your “grocery list” to make this set yourself! Have fun!
